3 months along

After 15 long weeks of being closed, I was happy to reopen our freshly painted doors in the first week of July. It was so nice to see all our lovely clients back to us again to have the laughs and the chats and do what we do best. That is to perform our services to a high standard in a safe and clean environment.

It was exciting but a bit nerve-wracking at the same time.I’m over 30 years doing this job so while it should have been like getting back on a bike I was actually a little apprehensive, I felt rusty but I think the new challenge of returning to something so familiar which was now not the same anymore was hard.

Three months down the line and we’re all settled into our new normal. There’s no such thing as popping in to get a quick brow wax anymore, everyone has to be prebooked to comply with track and trace which is fine, the added benefit of course is that they get a 24-hour text and email reminder for the appointment and a reminder that if they have any COVID symptoms they need to reschedule. Even though we supply hand sanitiser in the porch we require people to wash their hands upon entering the salon.

One of the things I managed to do was get this website going. I’m really happy with how it turned out, thanks to Leon. I love the online shop and especially the online gift voucher. We’ve all been caught out by forgetting a birthday present or thank you gift, now you can order the voucher for whatever amount you like and either have it emailed to the recipient or yourself to print out and pop in a card. That’s a great option, especially these days.

We’ve also introduced reflexology as a treatment. You can have a stand-alone treatment or as part of a mini spa day, for more information check out the previous post called ”Cosy up to Autumn”.

I hate to mention the C-word, actually, we now have 2 C words that we hate mentioning! The first one we’re all sick of and unlike the other (which only comes once a year but at least we enjoy it) we’ll all be glad to see the back of it.

Anyways, as normal at this time of the year ”C” appointments are starting to book up, so I suggest you get your appointment nailed down quickly to a day and time that suits you while you can. We’ll be securing them as normal with a 50% deposit upon booking.

And the gift sets are starting to arrive! Imagine, in my head it’s only July, mind you the evening chill, as well as the short evenings, would remind you fairly quick.
